Bronco will outsell cyber truck.  I am still waiting for the real cyber truck to drop.

Bronco will sell more. I’d be very surprised if Ford didn’t consider a way to electrify the new Bronco.

I won’t be able to tell you until I can see a video of someone tossing metal balls at the Bronco’s windows...

I’m expecting to see an electric or plug-in hybrid Bronco at some point (unless it bombs horribly, which seems unlikely if those pre-order numbers are accurate).

I am no Tesla apologist, but I put down a $100 refundable deposit on the Cybertruck. I think it just looks cool.

Last week I canceled my order and got my $100 back.  Not because of the Bronco, though I do like the looks.  Because with the economy the way it is there is no way I'm spending $70k on any vehicle in the next few years. I'm fortunate that my wife and I both still have our jobs, but I'm not taking on that kind of loan.

I am honestly still not convinced that the cybertruck is more than an extended publicity stunt. So Bronco

I think the Rivian truck will outsell the Tesla truck because it looks so much better . The Bronco will outsell both because of nostalgia, eventual rebates and financing promos and other dealership shenanigans , and people just not ready for an EV yet .

It will be interesting to see what the CT is actually like by the time it’s released. I expect the base model at the promised $40k will never surface, like the $35k M3 that existed for less than a month. Never mind what shape and materials actually emerge.

B ronco by a mile.

Rivian vs Cybertruck will be interesting. Wonder what Rivian’s production capability is - base price is much higher if I remember correctly.

I wonder what the real sales numbers will be?

Trucks are far more popular than SUVs or CUVs right now, and the Wrangler sells a max of 150k per year, and the Cybertruck supposedly has half a million preorders.

My guess is that the Cybertruck would outsell the bronco, but only if Tesla can actually produce that many trucks per year.

That’s how I decide if my next vehicle is up to snuff. Now I’m not welcome in any of my local dealerships (except the Kia dealer , as soon as they confirm I have a pulse, in I go!)

Tesla has sales rooms already though.  Rivian will appeal to a broader set of people but they haven't really showed us how they plan to sell it.

An E-Bronco, or a Bronco hybrid, it seems to me, in inevitable. FWIW, I am deeply skeptical of hybrids and battery-powered cars for a number of reasons, including complexity, availability of resources, and up-front environmental costs. And they are very costly.

Right. Though some of the chatter here says the used car market it thriving right now. I have a crappy Vic that I need to fix up and sell so that I can get back to work on Rusty.

I like the Cybertruck, but I want the Bronco. And even if I were to buy an electric truck in the near future, I’d buy a Rivian most likely. The Bronco is one of the few new vehicles I actually really want, and hypothetically assuming I have kids in the future and want a new vehicle for the safety, the Bronco is high on my list.

I’m thinking that the Bronco will the most, then the Cybertruck, then the Rivian.  The Rivian’s starting price is pretty high, but I guess people already spend stupid amounts of money on trucks.  Tough call.

My current car is a Hyundai Hybrid and I fucking love it!! A little doggy this time of year with the AC on but it’s great at what it does, which is get my big ass around in comfort for not that much gasoline. I bought it used with a MaxCare warranty so I’m not THAT worried about hybrid components shitting the bed and I will definitely get rid of it before it’s out of warranty.

I hear you, though I remain hopeful that hybrid tech will be like everything else: it starts off super exclusive and difficult to maintain and eventually the knowledge gets democratized and becomes usable to everyone with an interest.

I think you are right - I suspect the Cybertruck will end up starting around $43k or $45k, despite the original $39.9k starting price.  I think the general shape will be pretty similar, but I suspect it’ll end up having a lower roof and larger side windows than what was originally shown.  Think more crossover, and less monster truck.

Bronco beats Cybertruck because it appeals to more of the masses.

Rivian beats Cybertruck since it’s less extreme. But Cybertruck will win in non-purchasing popularity and memes.

Mach-E would outsell them all but Ford doesn't make enough of them and the next big thing comes out and kills its hype.

New Hummer fails against all of them because it’ll be overpriced and way too Hummer-y.

I think so.  I imagine it would be more like a Rivian or Nicola truck.  I’ll be completely shocked if it comes out as released.

The ability to produce that many trucks, plus the funky styling is what I think will hold it back.  I’m still not convinced it will look like the prototype.

The Bronco of course. Mainly because it’s going to be a lot more practical and affordable compared to the Cybertruck for the majority of new vehicle buyers in the next few years.

Yeah... there’s a shopfront somewhere.

The best analogy is... imagine if the only place in the US you could buy a Tesla (that could be used anywhere in the US) was in South Dakota...would you call that available?

I’d wager they would but said customer would almost certainly be on the hook for it.

By the time the Cybertruck gets down here there will be many more commercially available and far more practical options from the usual suspects...for much cheaper.
